Eight residents of Culver City have finalized the steps in order to become the next candidates for the upcoming City Council election this April. The candidates: Joseph Stone, Scott Wyant, Daniel Lee, Jay Garacochea, Marcus Tiiggs, Goran Eriksson and Megan Sahli-Wells are gearing up to sign the necessary candidacy documents this week. Their deadline to turn their paperwork in is this Friday, January 15th at 5pm.
In order to run, each candidate must collect at least 20 legitimate signatures (however, no more than 30 signatures) of Culver City residents who are currently registered to vote.

If you are interested in running for City Counsel, do not hesitate to call the City Clerk’s Office. Their number is 310-253-5851. You will be prompted to make an appointment, which then you will receive a ‘Candidate’s Packet of Information’.
There are 2 seats open on the Council now, as Meghan Sahli-Wells is running again in hopes to be re-elected. Term limits will not allow current councilmembers Mehaul O’Leary and Andy Weissman to run another term. The official date of the election will be Tuesday, April 12th. Three council members will be elected and serve a term of four years.
