Sunkist Park Neighborhood Overview

Sunkist Park (also known as El Marino) is a welcoming residential neighborhood. It’s located in the southwestern section of Culver City. You can find it bordered by Ballona Creek, Sepulveda Boulevard, Jefferson Boulevard, and Playa Street. Sunkist Park is known for its strong sense of community, excellent schools, and convenient access to both local amenities and the greater Los Angeles area.

Neighborhood & Local Feel

Sunkist Park is often described by residents as a safe, friendly, and close-knit community with a small-town vibe. Neighbors look out for one another. Many families have lived in the area for years. Multiple lines connect the neighborhood to key destinations throughout Culver City and the Westside. The area is also served by regional bus routes. It is a short drive from the E Line (Expo) light rail, which offers direct service to Santa Monica and downtown Los Angeles. Bike lanes and pedestrian paths, including access to the Ballona Creek Bike Path, make alternative commuting options viable for active residents.

  • El Marino Park:A 3.15-acre park within the neighborhood, featuring open green spaces, a ceramics hut with a kiln, a basketball court, and more. The park is a popular gathering spot for families and community events.

  • Ballona Creek Bike Path: Residents enjoy direct access to this scenic path for biking, jogging, and walking, connecting Sunkist Park to the coast and other parts of the city.
  • Proximity to Beaches & Shopping: The neighborhood is just a 10-minute drive from the beach, and close to Playa Vista’s Whole Foods, playgrounds, dog parks, and shopping centers, as well as Trader Joe’s, Sprouts, Target, and Westfield Culver City Mall.
